What is SmartPosting?
Peachtree Quantum SmartPosting is a Windows service that manages the posting of transactions independently of the client workstation. The SmartPosting process continually cycles through the databases looking for items to post, so that the user can continue to add and save transactions without having to wait for the posting to finish. The SmartPosting Manager monitors the state of the service running in the background should an error or problem occur. The status is displayed on the Navigation Bar under the Shortcuts menu and in the Company Information section of the Company Navigation Center.
The SmartPosting Manager monitors the state of the service running in the background. The service will stop during single-user access processing such as changing the accounting period, year end close, backup, purge, etc. The service will automatically restart when the process has finished.
